Death by pecking

The above images are of a scrub jay. Alive and dead. Beautiful to behold but annoying in every other way. Not only does the scrub jay have a screeching, taunting squawk but they are marauding in nature and FEAST ON HEN'S EGGS.  *@%$!!!=^#

Imagine my surprise this morning when I let my hens out to find a dead scrub jay on the floor of their coop! The thief met his fate - three angry, hen pecking (literally) female fowls in a foul mood! 

   
 My new motto:  Do not mess with a hen and her eggs.
